About Lamaste Yoga

At Lamaste we are all about having fun and learning through yoga.

Yoga can be really beneficial for young people's social, emotional and physical development.


Yoga teaches young people tools to cope with increasing pressures they are exposed to in our modern world. These tools include breath awareness, problem solving, mindfulness, self confidence, concentration and the practice of kindness and compassion to themselves and others. 

Through storytelling, drama and yoga games children learn the importance of honesty, kindness, moderation, generosity and contentment, the core aspects of yogic philosophy. 

Children also learn the physical poses and work individually and in partnership without the pressure of perfection or competition. Older children learn mindfulness and guided visualization and meditation techniques.

We aim to facilitate a safe and positive atmosphere in our classes where children feel comfortable.

About Kate

Kate Jones is the owner and key facilitator of Lamaste Yoga

Kate has been working in the youth work sector with children, teenagers and families for almost 10 years. 

Kate decided to combine her passion for practicing yoga herself and working with young people. She completed her children's yoga teacher training in India and volunteered teaching yoga in a children's home in Nepal to develop her teaching experience. Kate came home and set up Lamaste Yoga to provide a safe and fun place for children to enhance their physical and mental well being through yoga. 

Kate is a qualified and insured children's yoga teacher and is registered with Yoga Alliance Professionals.

Kate also has an MA in Child, Family and Community Studies and a BA in Drama and Theatre Studies and Sociology. Kate is fully trained in Child Protection and Safeguarding and in Occupational First Aid.
